It was a highly anticipated match-up between two main rivals, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs, fresh from signing 3 players in a matter of hours, came in the match with maximum points whereas Arsenal was fresh from their maiden victory a week before.

We did fairly well, creating openings and causing the Gunners’ defensive line problems. But it was Olivier Giroud who scored the only goal of the game. We had chances to score, particularly from Soldado, Townsend and Walker, but just couldn’t find the net. We dominated the game but was put off by poor finishing.

Now that the BPL is on a week break for international games, we hope AVB could sprinkle some magic dust and make our team play again. Remember, the Future is Bright, The Future is Lily White. COYS!

Players Ratings

Hugo Lloris – 9 – Man of The Match Performance by the French keeper.

Kyle Walker – 5 – Very poor. Lacked concentration, passing was not precise and missed a sitter towards the end.

Michael Dawson – 5 – In the wrong for the goal by not holding the high line; there was no need to track the run of Giroud.

Jan Vertonghen – 7 – Solid, and very determined.

Danny Rose – 5 – Walcott was a tough customer for Rose. At fault for letting the cross in that leads to the goal.

Etienne Capoue – 7 – Wasn’t really the same Capoue who played against Swansea, but was steady throughout. Suffered a bad injury and could be out for 4 to 6 weeks.

Paulinho – 6 – There were ups and downs, but mostly downs for the Brazillian playmaker.

Mousa Dembele – 4 – He is ever present in the league, but have yet to produce the goods.

Andros Townsend – 6.5 – Dangerous runs. Very single minded when he decided to shoot instead of passing the ball to a team mate.

Nacer Chadli – 5 – Had a relatively quiet game.

Roberto Soldado – 5 – Lacks support but we could see his determination. Time to work on the MF AVB!

Substitutes
